Our Mission

To enhance the safety, liveability and equity of public spaces with our dependable SMART solar lighting solutions and services.

We’re more than a world-leading solar public lighting company. At heart, we believe public lighting can be a force for good. That’s why we’re on a mission to make our streets and public spaces safer and more inviting for everyone, particularly the most vulnerable, such as women and girls, people with disabilities, and other marginalised groups.

Central to our mission is advocating for improved public lighting through our Shine a Light educational series and supporting SolarBuddy in the fight against energy poverty through Illuminating Communities and Gift Of Light initiatives.

As a solar public lighting company, we aim to achieve all this in an environmentally sustainable way.

Safety, Access and Equity

Poor public lighting affects all of us, especially the most vulnerable members of our community. We actively advocate for better public lighting to create safer, more equitable and inclusive communities, for everyone.

Reduce Energy Poverty

We actively support SolarBuddy, a not-for-profit organisation improving safety, education and sporting opportunities for children experiencing energy poverty here in Australia and overseas.

Sustainability

As a solar public lighting company, sustainability is at the core of everything we do. Our lights are powered by the sun and operate independently from the electricity grid with zero emissions.

Our Story

Unrivalled innovation & experience

In 2005, Leadsun had a vision to revolutionise public lighting by combining four emerging technologies into one compact and modular solar lighting system. After extensive research, development and testing, in 2008 Leadsun launched the world’s first all-in-one solar street light combining the benefits of solar photovoltaic (PV), LED light, lithium batteries and adaptive lighting controls.

A brighter future, for all

Since then we’ve installed more than 300,000 solar public lighting systems around the world for a wide range of applications including street lighting and road safety, car park lighting, pathway lighting, park lighting, temporary solar lighting and more.

On our journey we’ve discovered the transformative power of public lighting as a force for good. We’ve also learnt how positive change can be achieved in a sustainable way that doesn’t cost the earth.
